Professor Kamal Alameh

Professor Kamal Alameh, an internationally renowned expert in optics and Nano Photonics, served as Director at ECU and WCU GIST-Korea.

He holds Adjunct Professor roles at the University of Melbourne, ECU, GIST-Korea, and KCST-Kuwait, and a lifetime guest Professorship at Southeast University, China. He earned a PhD in Engineering (Photonics) from the University of Sydney in 1993.

Professor Alameh has 40 technology patents, including a 2018 ASX-listed Solar Energy application. His latest innovation, "High Definition Coloured Photo Voltaic (HDCPV)," is poised to lead BIPV technology, overcoming challenges in renewable energy and offering significant market potential in building and construction.

Dr Tim Song

Dr. Tim Song brings over 20 years of corporate management experience in Australia, transforming start-ups into industry leaders with well-known brands. Focused on innovation and technology, he played a key role in advancing AST's HDCPV technology. With 10+ years in the solar energy sector,

Dr. Song led a business ranking third in total annual kW output in Western Australia. Holding a Ph.D. in Geology/Petroleum Exploration, he remains dedicated to renewable energy applications, driving the shift away from environmentally harmful fossil fuels.


Mr. Paul Burton

Mr. Paul Burton is an experienced corporate executive who has over 25 years of experience in entrepreneurial endeavours, financial services, mergers and acquisitions, and business consulting.
Mr. Burton has worked successfully as a Non-Executive Director or Chairman of several ASX-listed companies and subsidiaries with expertise in strategy, commercialisation, governance, and risk. He is the Founder and Non-Executive Director of Enzide Technologies Ltd and has acted in the capacity as a Director or consulted to a range of companies in a number of industries including NAB/MLC, Q Invest, Challenger, IPAC Securities, Bentleys, Kidman Partners, O’Briens Accountants and Advisers, Rundles, IMI Medical, Morgans, Strategic Capital Management, Marsh Insurance and Y Stop.
Mr. Burton obtained his education in Australia and the United States and holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA), Bachelor of Economics (Honours) and a Diploma in Financial Planning.


Mr. Tommy Shin

Tommy Shin is a highly experienced professional with extensive experience as a Chair and NED. His expertise encompasses a diverse range of areas, including ASX and NASDAQ listings, corporate governance, capital raising, venture capital, capital markets and business development.

He serves as the Chairman for numerous private and public companies operating within the technology, healthcare, education, defence and agribusiness sectors.

Furthermore, he has previously held the position of Chairman at the Australian Korean Business Council, U Group, Ivy School, Frogponds, Buzvil and WeVolt.

He overseas the Republic of Korea’s ESG Sovereign Fund for the Oceania region and advises various NASDAQ, NYSE, TSX, KOSPI, KOSDAQ and ASX companies.

Charles E. Boyer

Charlie is the Principal at C E Boyer & Associates LLC since retiring from Viracon in March 2020.

With 25 years of technical and business experience, he joined Viracon in 2009 as Vice President of Research, Process & Product Development. Prior roles include being Vice President at Coloplast Skin Health (2005-2008) and Chief Operating Officer at Tech Logic (2003-2005). His leadership at 3M Company spanned from 1985 to 2003, overseeing government contracts, leading the Austin electronic materials laboratory, and serving in Singapore. Charlie holds a Bachelor of Science in Materials Engineering from Wilkes University and earned a Master of Science and a Doctor of Philosophy in Materials Science from the University of Virginia. He served on Veritec Inc.'s Board of Directors and advisory boards for Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory Flex Lab and Purdue Herrick Laboratory.

Recognized as a co-inventor on multiple patents, Charlie's career reflects a commitment to innovation and excellence.


Dr Navid Mavaddat

Dr Navid Mavaddat holds a Bachelor of Computer and Mathematical Sciences (Hons.) from the University of Western Australia, and a PhD in Information Technology from Edith Cowan University.

He brings to AST more than 20 years experience in scientific research and commercial software development.  His PhD thesis involved the use of simulation of light transmission through multi-layered tissues together with Machine Learning. Dr Mavaddat was awarded an Industry Fellowship for his world-class expertise in Artificial Intelligence. He is the author of a book chapter on utilising Simulation of biomedical signals for training Deep Learning networks as result of his PhD project. In addition to his experience in Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence, Dr Mavaddat has extensive experience in Computer Vision, 3D computer aided design software design and web development


Mr. Max Ji

With over 20 years of international finance and investment experience, Max held key roles in Australia and abroad. Starting as the STG representative in 2008, he later became CEO of Shandong Tianye Australia Group and Minjar Gold.

Notable achievements include successfully transferring gold production to Jinan Hi-tech Development Co. Ltd. Max, a GAICD member, served as Chairman of Minjar Gold, leading strategic initiatives like acquiring Pajingo and Barto Gold Mining operations and recapitalizing Triton Minerals Ltd. Currently, he holds the position of Chairman at Triton Minerals Ltd.

Jason Salman (B. Econs and LLB)

Jason Salman is a partner in the restructuring, insolvency and special situations (RSSG) practice of Ashurst and has been practising as a lawyer for over 25 years. He is admitted to practice in Western Australia and England & Wales.

Jason specialises in restructuring, insolvency and special situations and provides a broad range of advice to clients. Jason has significant international experience gained from being based in London, England for over a decade from 2002 to 2012 (where he was a partner at Kirkland & Ellis and Greenberg Traurig) and has acted on numerous high-profile and complex financial restructuring matters in Europe, the United States and Australia.

Jason was also based in Sydney, Australia for 5 years (from 2012 to 2017) as National Head of the Restructuring and Insolvency Group at Corrs Chambers Westgarth.

Winnie Lai Hadad

Winnie was born in Hong Kong and educated in Hong Kong, Malaysia, Melbourne and Perth. She is a qualified lawyer, Certified Practising Accountant, Mineral Economist, a wife and mum. Her Bachelor qualifications include Juris Doctor, Arts, Commerce and a Master in Science (mineral economics) from WA School or Mines (WASM, now part of Curtin University).

Winnie has worked in the resources, finance, logistic, and manufacturing industries. She has expertise in change management, corporate governance and business process improvement and has been involved in listings on the Australian Securities Exchange, including companies involved in iron
ore (both magnetite and direct shipping ore).

She has been involved with both inbound and outbound Chinese investments. Her past roles include implementing Coca-Cola bottling strategies into greater China and administering the first Chinese direct investment in an iron ore mine in the Pilbara Region of Western Australia.

Winnie has worked for Swire Pacific Ltd, P&O Ports Limited, Paladin Resources Limited, Kerry Group Limited, Rio Tinto Iron Ore and a Perth-based subsidiary of an Asian listed entity focused on iron ore, resources and construction.

Winnie is a Non Executive Director (NEDs) for ASX Listed, unlisted and Not-for profit Boards.

She is a qualified professional interpreter for Mandarin and Cantonese, holding accreditation by the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology and the National Accreditation Authority of Translators and Interpreters (NAATI).

She is a graduate member of Corporate Governance Institute, AusIMM, and Graduate of Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD).

She travels to China regularly and often invited as guest speaker on emerging trends in China, the art of negotiation with Chinese and topics like "Chinese are not all the same". She has done many workshops and keynote speaking for trends in China. She is highly sought after as Speaker on doing business and attracting investments from China and specialist negotiator in Cross borders transactions.

Winnie is the principal and founding Director of Winn Consulting Pty Ltd and a boutique legal practice, Winch Legal Pty Ltd. Winnie is the President of Hong Kong Australia Business Association, WA Chapter since 2019.

Hon Michael Keenan

Michael served as a Minister in the Australian Government in the roles of Justice Minister, Minister for Counter-Terrorism, Minister for Human Services and Minister for Digital Transformation. He spent fifteen years of the Member for Stirling in Western Australia.

An expert in international relations, public policy and regulatory affair, since leaving Parliament Michael has served as a successful business manager and company director. He currently serves on the Boards of U Group and Co, Osteopore and the Australian Strategic Policy Institute. He is a Senior Adviser to global consulting firm Partners in Performance. Michael owns and runs Branksome Advisory which provides strategic advice to domestic and international companies.

Mark Leong

Mark has considerable corporate, management and directorship experience in a broad range of functions and industries having undertaken several C-suite roles (Chairman, CEO, COO & CFO) in several private as well as listed companies.

He currently serves in various Directorship roles in several SGX listed companies as well as an ASX listed company and a NASDAQ listed company. Mr Leong is a Chartered Accountant of the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants (ISCA), a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), and a Member of the Singapore Institute of Directors.
