Mr. Tommy Shin
Tommy is a highly experienced professional with extensive experience as a Chair and NED. His expertise encompasses a diverse range of areas, including ASX and NASDAQ listings, corporate governance, capital raising, venture capital, capital markets and business development.
Mr. Shin serves as the Chairman for numerous private and public companies operating within the technology, healthcare, education, defence and agribusiness sectors.
Furthermore, Mr. Shin has previously held the position of Chairman at the Australian Korean Business Council, U Group, Ivy School, Frogponds, Buzvil and WeVolt.
He overseas the Republic of Korea’s ESG Sovereign Fund for the Oceania region and advises various NASDAQ, NYSE, TSX, KOSPI, KOSDAQ and ASX companies.
Mr. Paul Burton
Paul is a seasoned corporate executive with over 25 years of experience in entrepreneurial ventures, financial services, mergers and acquisitions, and business consulting. He has served as a Non-Executive Director or Chairman for several ASX-listed companies and subsidiaries, bringing expertise in strategy, commercialisation, governance, and risk.
Mr. Burton is the Founder and Non-Executive Director of Enzide Technologies Ltd and has acted as a Director or consultant for a wide range of companies across various industries, including NAB, MLC, and Challenger. His education spans both Australia and the United States, where he earned an MBA, a Bachelor of Economics (Honours), and a Diploma in Financial Planning.
Dr Tim Song
Tim brings over 20 years of corporate management experience in Australia, transforming start-ups into industry leaders with well-known brands. Focused on innovation and technology, he played a key role in advancing AST's HDCPV technology.
With 10+ years in the solar energy sector, Dr. Song led a business ranking third in total annual kW output in Western Australia. Holding a Ph.D. in Geology/Petroleum Exploration, he remains dedicated to renewable energy applications, driving the shift away from environmentally harmful fossil fuels.
Professor Kamal Alameh
Kamal, an internationally renowned expert in optics and Nano Photonics, served as Director at ECU and WCU GIST-Korea.
He holds Adjunct Professor roles at the University of Melbourne, ECU, GIST-Korea, and KCST-Kuwait, and a lifetime guest Professorship at Southeast University, China. He earned a PhD in Engineering (Photonics) from the University of Sydney in 1993.
Professor Alameh has 40 technology patents, including a 2018 ASX-listed Solar Energy application. His latest innovation, "High Definition Coloured Photo Voltaic (HDCPV)," is poised to lead BIPV technology, overcoming challenges in renewable energy and offering significant market potential in building and construction.
Ms. Sam Brown
Sam is a dynamic leader with over 25 years of experience in start-up, scale-up, and pivoting environments, particularly within the tech industry. She is skilled at building solid company foundations, resilient teams, and streamlining operations, while fostering a positive company culture. Her expertise in change management and people-focused leadership consistently delivers strong results in high-pressure environments.
Ms. Brown has contributed to the growth of two Perth-founded unicorns, Nearmap and VGW, and has experience across industries including motor, identity verification, crypto/blockchain, medical, and cyber security.
Mr. Max Ji
With over 20 years of international finance and investment experience, Max held key roles in Australia and abroad. Starting as the STG representative in 2008, he later became CEO of Shandong Tianye Australia Group and Minjar Gold.
Notable achievements include successfully transferring gold production to Jinan Hi-tech Development Co. Ltd. Mr. Ji, a GAICD member, served as Chairman of Minjar Gold, leading strategic initiatives like acquiring Pajingo and Barto Gold Mining operations and recapitalizing Triton Minerals Ltd. Currently, he holds the position of Chairman at Triton Minerals Ltd.
Hon Michael Keenan
Michael served as a Minister in the Australian Government in the roles of Justice Minister, Minister for Counter-Terrorism, Minister for Human Services and Minister for Digital Transformation. He spent fifteen years of the Member for Stirling in Western Australia.
An expert in international relations, public policy and regulatory affair, since leaving Parliament Mr. Keenan has served as a successful business manager and company director. He currently serves on the Boards of U Group and Co, Osteopore and the Australian Strategic Policy Institute. He is a Senior Adviser to global consulting firm Partners in Performance. Michael owns and runs Branksome Advisory which provides strategic advice to domestic and international companies.
Mark Leong
Mark has considerable corporate, management and directorship experience in a broad range of functions and industries having undertaken several C-suite roles (Chairman, CEO, COO & CFO) in several private as well as listed companies. He currently serves in various Directorship roles in several SGX listed companies as well as an ASX listed company and a NASDAQ listed company.
Mr Leong is a Chartered Accountant of the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants (ISCA), a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), and a Member of the Singapore Institute of Directors.
Jason Salman
Jason is a partner at Ashurst, based in its Perth office. He specialises in restructuring, insolvency, and special situations, bringing over 25 years of legal experience. His work includes advising on complex financial restructuring across various jurisdictions, including Australia, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
Before joining Ashurst, Mr. Salman worked at international law firms such as Kirkland & Ellis and Greenberg Traurig in London, and served as the National Head of Restructuring and Insolvency at Corrs Chambers Westgarth in Sydney. He provides comprehensive advice to creditors, companies, and boards on distressed M&A, debt trading, and formal insolvency procedures. He also serves as a Non Executive Director for another public company.
Chris Mewburn
Chris is the Course Coordinator for the Bachelor of Architecture degree at Curtin University, where he oversees the strategic development and day-to-day management of the course. His responsibilities span curriculum development, student engagement, project management, and maintaining strong connections with key stakeholders. Collaborating closely with a team of globally recognized academics and industry practitioners, Mr. Mewburn ensures that the program remains both innovative and forward-thinking.
A top graduate of the Master of Architecture program in 2014, Mr. Mewburn has been a prominent academic at Curtin University’s School of Architecture. Beyond academia, he has founded three ventures in digital fabrication, fashion, and retail, and he continues to work on private design and fabrication commissions. Currently pursuing a PhD in Architecture, his research focuses on using artificial intelligence and immersive technologies to explore architectural awe. His teaching philosophy emphasizes speculative design and digital technology integration, demonstrating his dedication to advancing the field of architecture.
Howard Buckley
Howard has a diverse career across Chartered Accounting, ICT, project leadership, and senior management roles in Australia, the UK, Asia, and USA. Mr. Buckley began as an accountant and auditor before transitioning to ICT, founding a Microsoft development partnership and a national IT training company. He later joined BHP (ASX.BHP), where he managed major international projects and served as Director and Country Manager in Asia.
Recruited by Capgemini, Mr. Buckley led global strategic projects for energy, manufacturing, and transport clients. He then joined Freeport-McMoRan to optimise resource operations across the USA and Asia. Returning to Perth in 2008, Mr. Buckely transformed a solar PV reseller into Australia’s largest supplier, growing revenue from $1.1M to $6M monthly. He later took senior roles at Western Power and joined Future Smart Strategies as Executive Director, where he focuses on ESG-driven business transformation and advises on large-scale renewable energy projects.
